Actor Liam Hemsworth, who broke up with singer Miley Cyrus, says he is in a better place now and is moving on.

"These days I feel like I am more centred and grounded than I have ever been," femalefirst.co.uk quoted Hemsworth as saying, who split in September this year.

The 23-year-old actor met Cyrus in 2010 on the set of their film "The Last Song".

He admits he has gone through a lot since moving to Hollywood from his native Australia five years ago.

"I have learned so much. The first few years in here were really tough and scary, but I had to figure things out for myself," he added.

And that meant learning to deal with all the media attention after his engagement to Cyrus, whose controversial comeback and twerking act were said to be the reason behind their breakup.

"What I always keep in mind is that I know what the truth is and that's all that matters. I know I am a good person," he said.

After admitting he is not seeing anyone special, he credits surfing and kick boxing with helping him to escape the pressure and says his co-star Jennifer Lawrence has helped him find balance in his life.

"For a few years I went down a path where I forgot to be in the moment and enjoy the moment.

"But being around someone like Jen, who is so honest and laughs all day long, I am forced to be in the right now. I am much happier," he said.
