President Pranab Mukherjee will lay the foundation stone for Chandrodaya Mandir, a 213-metre high temple dedicated to Lord Krishna, here Nov 16, an official said Tuesday.
The Rs.300-crore project will be completed in five years, said project director Bharat Prabhu.
"We are using the world's latest technology and engineering to ensure the structure has a life of at least 500 years," Prabhu told IANS over phone from Bangalore.
He said the said the project will take visitors back in time as it will be a reflection of the original pristine Braj Dham with its many forests and rivulets.
Built over an area of 30 acres, it will have sculptures and show pieces to re-create the original ambience of Krishna's Vrindavan dham.
There will be an open air theatre featuring performances by artists on the leelas of Sri Krishna, Prabhu said.
The project has been conceptualized and is being executed by ISKCON.
"The project also employs many technological innovative solutions to ensure environmental sustainability," Prabhu added.
