Taking a tough stand on call drops, Communications Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad on Thursday said h,e along with top officials, will go around the national capital to take stock of the telecom services.

Speaking at a BSNL event, the minister said that he will take Telecom Secretary J.S.Deepak and state-run telecom service provider BSNL's chairman-cum-managing director Anupam Shrivastava with him to monitor the situation of call drops.

During the last test drive, conducted to improve call quality and reduce call drops, by the sector regulator, Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), between December 2015-January 2016, most of the telecom service providers (TSPs) did not meet the prescribed benchmark.

The Indian telecom watchdog is likely to carry out another test drive in April to access the random call quality in various parts of the country, TRAI chairman R.S. Sharma said in February.
