President Pranab Mukherjee on Tuesday condoled the loss of lives due to heavy rain and lightning in different parts of Andhra Pradesh.
In a message to Andhra Pradesh Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan, Mukherjee said, "I am sad to learn about the heavy rains and lightning in different parts of Andhra Pradesh, which have caused loss of lives and injuries. My thoughts and prayers are with the injured and the families who have lost their near and dear ones."
He called upon the state government and other authorities to provide all possible aid to the bereaved families as well as medical assistance to the injured. He also conveyed heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased.
At least 20 people died after lightning struck different parts of Andhra Pradesh as heavy rain lashed the state on Sunday.
