President Pranab Mukherjee left here Friday on a two-day state visit to Bhutan, the first presidential visit to Thimphu in 26 years.
Mukherjee is visiting Bhutan on the invitation of Bhutan King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck.
He is accompanied by Minister of State for Railways Manoj Sinha and four MPs, including Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi of the Bharatiya Janata Party.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi chose Bhutan for his first visit abroad in June this year.
