To mark completion of his third year in office, President Pranab Mukherjee will on Friday inaugurate a clinic in the President's Estate that was known as the Viceroy's Dispensary when originally constructed in 1929.
The President's Estate Clinic and CGHS Wellness Centre are functioning in the building, whose various architectural features like cornices, moulding and turrets etc. had been badly damaged/defaced as no major repair/restoration work was taken up since last many years.
The building has now been renovated and restored to its original shape. Renovation work started on June 4 and was completed on July 23 i.e. within 50 days, said a Rashtrapati Bhavan statement.
