Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday said his party wants the voice of professionals to be heard in politics.
"We want their voice to be included in politics and policy-making," Gandhi said after a meeting of the newly formed All India Professionals Congress.
The new body, headed by former Union Minister Shashi Tharoor, has been set up as part of Congress efforts to expand its base among a section seen to be more influenced by the Bharatiya Janata Party.
Milind Deora is Vice Chairman of the department and coordinator of west zone, Geeta Reddy of south, Gaurav Gogoi of east and Salman Soz of the north zone.
The Congress has created another department to reach out to the unorganized sector.
