Puducherry votes

Polling for the lone Lok Sabha seat in the union territory of Puducherry began Thursday, officials said.

A total of 30 candidates are in the fray in the former French colony.

As many as 901,357 voters, including 469,128 women, are eligible to exercise their franchise.

Balloting is taking place at 905 polling booths where 5,700 poll personnel have been deployed.
