Indian cricketer Cheteshwar Pujara has risen to a career-best No.5 in the latest ICC rankings for Test batsmen released Monday.
Pujara jumped two places above Sri Lanka's Kumar Sangakkara and Australia skipper Michael Clarke to the top-5 with 851 points with India's second best Virat Kohli on the verge of entering the top-10 at 11th. The chart is led by South African AB de Villiers.
Offie Ravichandran Ashwin is India's best bowler in seventh position with 759 points, closely followed by left arm spinner Pragyan Ojha, who slid a place to ninth. The list is led by South Africa pacer Vernon Philander.
However, Ashwin leads the all-rounders rankings in first position with 388 points.
