Punjab sets up task force on eradicating poverty

The Punjab government on Thursday constituted a task force to work on eradicating poverty in consonance with the initiatives being taken by the NITI Aayog, an official said here.

Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal has appointed Punjab State Planning Board vice-chairman Rajinder Bhandari as the task force chief.

The task force will comprise specialists and secretaries of the departments concerned.

It will prepare a roadmap and suggesting strategies on anti-poverty programmes, including reforms of the existing ones, a government spokesperson told IANS.
