Wheat arrival in food grain state Punjab has crossed the 120 lakh tonnes mark this season, an official said here on Friday.
"Progressive procurement of wheat by the state government agencies and the private traders is to the tune of 119.84 lakh tonnes out of the 120.30 lakh tonnes arrival in the mandis till May 3," an official spokesman of Punjab government said here on Friday.
Government agencies have procured 119.37 lakh tonnes of the wheat.
He claimed that over 88.1 lakh tonnes of wheat had been lifted from the grain markets so far.
Sangrur, Patiala and Ludhiana districts were leading in wheat arrival.
