Quake hits France

A quake measuring 5.2 on the Richter Scale hit the French city La Rochelle on Thursday, authorities said.

No immediate casualties were reported, Xinhua news agency quoted the authorities as saying. It was the most powerful quake reported in France since 2014, according to the Central French Seismic Office.
