An earthquake measuring 5.4 on the Richter scale rocked a province in eastern Indonesia Sunday night. There were, however, no immediate reports of any casualty, the Meteorology and Geophysics Agency said.

The temblor, which hit the West Papua province at 9.52 p.m. (1452 GMT), had a depth of 10 km, Xinhua quoted an official as saying.

Indonesia lies on a vulnerable quake-hit zone called "the Pacific Ring of Fire".
