Rajni Kant Mishra on Saturday took over as Director General, Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), succeeding Archana Ramasundaram.
A recipient of Police Medal in 2003 and the prestigious President Police Medal in 2009, Mishra is an Uttar Pradesh cadre IPS officer of 1984 batch. He has served in various positions in Uttar Pradesh.
Mishra joined Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in 2002 and worked there as Deputy Inspector General (DIG) and Inspector General (IG) till 2009.
He was shifted to Border Security Force (BSF) in June 2013 and worked as IG and later Additional Director General (ADG) at Frontier Headquarters, Tripura and South Bengal.
His last assignment was ADG, BSF Headquarters.
