The Uttar Pradesh government on Tuesday appointed Lt Gen Ravindra Pratap Sahi (Retd), as the Vice-Chairperson of the State Disaster Management Authority, an official spokesman said.
Sahi retired as Chief of Staff, HeadQuarter Central in 2016.
He has served in high altitude areas in Jammu and Kashmir, besides the North East as well as in the deserts of Rajasthan and plains of Punjab.
The restructured governing body of Disaster Management Authority includes Ministers of Agriculture, Irrigation and Urban Development as members.
Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Flood Control is also nominated as a member of the governing body. Chief Secretary, UP along with principle secretary of revenue and home department are nominated members of the State Disaster Management Authority.
