Rains after heavy overnight showers in the capital made for a cool Friday, bringing the maximum temperature significantly to five notches below season's average at 29.5 degrees Celsius. The weekend is likely to be similar.
Rains are expected Saturday too, said an official of India Meteorological Department.
The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to hover around 31 and 25 degrees Celsius, respectively.
Though the rains led to the temperature plummeting, maximum humidity shot up to 100 percent, while the minimum temperature settled two notches below the season's average at 24.6 degrees Celsius.
