Some parts in south Delhi Sunday recorded rain while most others remained warm and sultry as the sun played hide and seek with the clouds, the Met office said, forecasting light rain and thundershowers in a few areas the next day.
The maximum and minimum temperatures remained below average, while for some south Delhi areas it turned to be the second successive day of intermittent showers with the Safdarjung met centre recording 44.2 mm rain, Lodhi Road 35 mm, Ayanagar 33.6 and Palam 17.2 mm during the last 24 hours.
"Everything looked so clean and the trees appeared greener. It was an ideal rainy Sunday," said Lokesh Madan, an IT professional from Panchsheel Park in south Delhi.
"Had it been a working day, reaching office would have been a pain," he said.
The maximum temperature was 33.1 degrees Celsius -- one notch below average -- and the minimum temperature at 24.4 degrees Celsius -- two degrees below average. The humidity was recorded between a high of 98 percent and low of 69 percent, said a weather official.
"There will be rain and thundershower Monday in some parts of the city," said an India Meteorological Department official.
The maximum temperature is likely to hover around 32 degrees Celsius.
Since the monsoon's arrival in June, Delhi has got 636.8 mm rain, 47 percent more than average.
On Saturday, the maximum temperature settled a notch below average at 32.6 degrees Celsius while the minimum was recorded three notches below average at 23.5 degrees.
