Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh Saturday took stock of the flood situation in Jammu and Kashmir during a meeting here with Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.
"I have met the chief minister and the officers of the local administration and have been briefed about the situation here," Rajnath Singh told reporters.
"I was going to take a tour of the affected areas in Srinagar with the chief minister but the helicopter was not able to take off due to the bad weather," he added.
The toll in the floods due to incessant downpour for the last five days rose to 120 Saturday. Besides, the strategic Jammu-Srinagar national highway remained closed for the third consecutive day Saturday.
Rajnath Singh was accompanied by Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions Jitendra Singh.
