Rajni beats Sarath in national racing

Rajni Krishnan beat rival Sarath Kumar again to win his third consecutive race in Group C 165cc Open class category in Round 4 of the Indian National Motorcycle Racing Championship at the Kari Motor Speedway here Saturday.

For the second weekend in a row, Rajni got the better of Sarath after qualifying on pole position. K. Jagan started second but lost out at the start and spent the whole race battling with Deepak R., who beat him to third position.

In the Honda CBR 250 race, Deepak took his first win of the season in the category after a race-long battle with Sumit Lucas Toppo. Deepak managed to hold on for the win after crossing the finish line 0.27 seconds ahead. Ramesh Kumar finished a distant third, 20 seconds behind the lead group.

In the Honda CBR 150 Novice category, Mithun Kumar won ahead of Rajiv S. and Naresh Babu.

Mathana Kumar dominated the TVS One Make Open race in the TVS One Make Championship with a convincing win. Arvind Ganesh finished second after holding off Shyam Shankar.

In the TVS Apache Novice category S. Kannan beat Naresh by 0.112 seconds in a closely contested battle. Vivian David took the final step of the podium.

Mithun Kumar took his second win of the day in the Group D 165cc race after a brilliant battle with Hari Krishnan. Mithun took the lead on the last lap as they crossed the finish line together with Mithun ahead by 0.033 seconds.

Kannan denied Mithun his third win of the day when he beat him in the Group D 130cc category. It was a three way battle with K. Kannan coming in third with less than a second separating the podium finishers.
