Bollywood heart-throb Ranbir Kapoor was detained briefly at Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport for not declaring the luxury goods he was carying, an official said here Saturday.
Kapoor, who arrived here by a British Airways flight from London, was found walking through the green channel.
However, he was immediately intercepted by customs officials and was found to carrying branded goods and personal accessories worth around Rs.100,000 that he had not declared.
These included clothes, perfumes and footwear, which attract customs duty beyond a certain limit, the official said.
Kapoor was detained for around half hour, interrogated and later directed to pay a penalty of Rs.60,000 before he was allowed to go, the official added.
