A court here Wednesday sent the taxi driver accused of raping a woman here to two days' police custody in a case of forgery of documents, police said.
Shiv Kumar Yadav, the 32-year-old driver of banned online cab booking service Uber, was lodged in Tihar jail. He allegedly raped a 25-year-old working women in his cab Dec 5 while she was on her way home in north Delhi.
He was arrested Dec 7 and sent to Tihar jail after three days in police custody. On Dec 11, a Delhi metropolitan magistrate sent Yadav to judicial custody till Dec 24 after police said he was not required for further custodial interrogation in the rape case.
During investigation, it was found that Yadav, a serial offender, had submitted forged documents to Buradi Transport Authority to procure all India tourist permit.
Yadav was booked for cheating.
