The mother of the toddler who was allegedly gang raped in the national capital on Friday, identified the main accused and told police that he had earlier tried to molest her sister-in-law's daughter.
"After watching the (CCTV) video, the victim's mother told police that the person could be a 16-year-old school boy who used to play with the victim. She said she thought so because he had also tried to molest her sister-in-law's daughter a few months ago but the family had not filed any complaint over it," a police officer investigating the matter told IANS.
The two-and-a-half-year-old was kidnapped from near her home in west Delhi's Nangloi area and gang raped by two teenagers during a power outage in the area on Friday night. She was found in a nearby park early Saturday.
