Rath Yatra drew 58 lakh devotees

The Odisha government said on Wednesday that 58 lakh devotees thronged the Hindu holy town of Puri during the Rath Yatra at the Jagannath temple.

Taking a review meeting after the completion of Nabakalebar festival, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik expressed satisfaction over the management of the event.

Meanwhile, the government has identified 131 acres of land belonging to the Jagannath Temple for sale through auction to mop up around Rs.1,000 crore in two years.

The temple has 57,000 acre of land across Odisha and outside.
