Ravi Bangar, additional secretary in the ministry of external affairs, has been appointed as the next high commissioner of India to Cyprus, it was announced Friday.
Bangar, an Indian Foreign Service official of the 1982 batch, is currently additional secretary in the east and south Africa division of the ministry.
He is expected to take up his assignment as envoy to the island country in the Eastern Mediterranean Sea shortly, said the statement.
