Real Madrid have made a bid to sign Brazilian striker Henrique on a one-year loan deal.
The Spanish giants contacted Henrique's club, Botafogo, last week with a proposal to bring the 22-year-old to the Bernabeu before the end of the month, Uol reported Thursday.
Under terms of the deal, Real Madrid would not pay a transfer fee, being responsible only for the player's wages.
The arrangement would be similar to the one agreed by Henrique's compatriot Casemiro last year.
The midfielder joined Real Madrid on a 12-month loan from Sao Paulo and impressed enough to be given a permanent contract in June.
Henrique has represented Brazil at both under 19 and under 20 level. He was named the best player at the 2011 under 20 World Cup in Colombia.
