Spanish defender Dani Carvajal on Friday could not make it to the Real Madrid final training session ahead of the upcoming La Liga clash with Valladolid as he has not recovered from a muscle injury.
Carvajal, who has been training alone, adds to Real Madrid's defensive woes as he joined Barça's Marcelo, Raphael Varane and Jesus Vallejo on the injury chart, leaving interim coach Santiago Solari with only Alvaro Odriozola, Nacho Fernandez, Sergio Ramos and Sergio Reguilon available, reports Efe.
Solari, who is set to make his La Liga debut as the Los Blancos first team coach, is expected to reinforce the squad with Real Madrid B-team Javi Sanchez, who took part in the first-team training session.
Solari took the helm on October 29 replacing Julen Lopetegui who was sacked a day after a humiliating 5-1 defeat to Barcelona, as the UEFA Champions League defending champion failed to earn a league win for the fifth match in a row.
Real Madrid fans hope the club will be able to build on the momentum it gained after winning comfortably 4-0 against third-division club UD Melilla in the first leg of a Copa del Rey round of 32 tie, which was Solari's first match as head coach.
In the wake of Los Blancos' recent losses, Real Madrid holds the ninth spot in the La Liga table with 14 points; seven points shy of leader Barcelona after ten matches.
