Christian Reitz claimed the Olympic title of the men's 25m rapid fire pistol on Saturday, the third gold in shooting for Team Germany at the Rio Games.
Reitz scored 34 hits in the final, outscoring silver medallist Frenchman Jean Quiquampoix who totaled 30 hits. Li Yuehong from China took the bronze with 27 hits, reports Xinhua.
Germany won its fifth Olympic gold medal in men's 25m rapid fire pistol after 1936, 1992, 1996 and 2004, becoming the only team with five gold medals in this event in Olympic history.
Reitz became the third Olympic champion from Germany in men's 25m rapid fire pistol after Cornelius Van Oyen in 1936 and Ralf Shumann in 1992, 1996 and 2004.
