Singer Rekha Bhardwaj, known for her unique and soulful voice, re-recorded one of her old songs for the title track of new TV show "Ishq ka rang safed".
The Colors channel show will hit the small screen next week. Set against the culturally vibrant Benaras, it narrates the tale of an impossible love story between Viplab and Dhani, played by TV actors Mishal Raheja and newcomer Eisha Singh.
Rekha's track, aptly named "Ishq ka rang safed", is inspired by a couplet by poet Kabir.
She first sang the song for the 2011 album "Kabir Chaura Sufi Chaura". Now, four years later, she re-recorded it, particularly for the makers of the show, said a source from the channel.
The National Film Award winning singer has crooned not one but three different versions -- sad, happy and romantic -- of the soundtrack. The versions were motivated by the many colours of the show.
