Uttar Pradesh Congress chief Nirmal Khatri on Wednesday denied media reports that he has resigned from the post and said he has no intention of resigning either.
"Reports about my resignation are completely false. I have neither resigned, nor I have any such intentions," Khatri told IANS over the phone.
Asked if he was asked to resign by the Congress High Command, he said: "No I was not."
Earlier, media reports suggested that Khatri had resigned from the post of Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) chief.
Asked about his absence from the meeting in which newly-appointed party incharge of Uttar Pradesh Ghulam Nabi Azad was also present, Khatri said: "I was suffering from back problem, so I could not attend the meeting."
Meanwhile, party spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala told IANS: "We have no confirmation about his resignation."
