A ruling RJD leader on Wednesday announced that he will observe 'maun-vrat' (silence) every Durga Puja until party chief Lalu Yadav's son Tejashwi Yadav becomes Chief Minister of Bihar.

Tejaswi, 26, is the younger son of Lalu Yadav and currently the Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar.

Pradeep Dev, who is the Vice President of the Extremely Backward Caste unit of the RJD and hails from Gopalganj district of the state, has been observing 'maun-varat' since the start of Navratri on October 1 this year.

"It is his dream to see Tejashwi Yadav as Chief Minister," said a close aide of Dev.

Incidentally, Dev is not the first RJD leader who has expressed the desire to see Tejashwi in the Chief Minister's chair. Earlier, RJD Youth wing President and party MP Bulo Mandal had forecast that Tejashwi is the next Chief Minister of Bihar.

Dev has announced it publicly that Lalu Prasad is his icon for social justice and inspiration to work for the cause of social justice.

"Lalu Prasad has established social justice in Bihar. After Lalu, only Tejashwi Yadav has the capability to keep up social justice in the state."

But, Tejashwi himself has made it clear that he is neither capable for the top post now nor is his age suited for it.

A cricketer-turned-politician, Tejashwi said that Nitish Kumar is capable to run not only the state but also the central government.

He credited Nitish Kumar for transforming a backward state like Bihar into a No.1 state in terms of development, high growth rate and a first-ranker in terms of ease of doing business.

Besides, the latest report of the National Crime Record Bureau puts Bihar on the 22nd position in terms of crime rate. All this is enough to prove Nitish Kumar's credentials as an administrator, he said.
