A phone thief was identified after he clicked his photo on the stolen phone, police said on Tuesday.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Mandeep Singh Randhawa said the phone, tolen from a woman bus passenger in Daryaganj area of central Delhi, was recovered from the house of Naseem Mohammad in the area, while he was himself on the run.

On Friday, the woman found a photo of an unknown person in her email. This was due to a feature enabled in her phone by which all photos taken on the phone would be sent to her email. The officer said that the woman filed a complaint on Friday and police later identified the accused using the photo.
