In two separate incidents here on Thursday, criminals robbed a chartered accountant of Rs.8.5 lakh while he was going to a bank and another man of Rs.5.50 lakh.
Both incidents occurred almost at the same time -- the first in Loni and the second at Murad Nagar.
Police said chartered accountant Mohd Iftkhar Hussain was going to deposit Rs.8.5 lakh in a bank when he was waylaid by four robbers on two motorcycles at Balram Nagar residential locality.
One of them snatched the cash bag. When the victim tried to resist, another robber put a pistol on his head. Eventually, the criminals escaped on their motorcycles, police officer R.P. Pandey said.
In the other incident, robbers looted Rs.5.50 lakh from a man, Vipin Goel, at Murad Nagar, police officer Rajesh Pandey said.
