Even as a reboot to "A Nightmare on Elm Street" is in the early stages of development, actor Robert Englund, who portrayed the iconic Freddy Krueger in the original film, won't be a part of it.
Englund took to Twitter to inform fans that he would not star as Freddy.
"Just for the record, I will not be starring as Freddy in any new Nightmare projects, real or fictional," he wrote on the micro-blogging website, reports aceshowbiz.com.
However, he hinted at another alternative to appear in the film.
"They're not gonna be bring me back for Freddy. Perhaps they'd bring me back in a cameo as an elderly dream expert at the local clinic for dream analysis or therapy?" he said.
Thus, people still can expect his appearance in the upcoming movie although not as Freddy.
The reboot of the iconic horror movie is expected to arrive in US in 2017.
