Rohit Khurana, who plays an ugly-looking Madhav in the "Dil Ki Nazar Se...Khoobsurat" TV serial, says it was a challenge doing the role, something that not many actors would take up.

"There are very few actors on TV who take that risk of looking ugly on the screen. To make a place in the audience's heart with the character was a big task, a challenging role," Rohit said here on the sets of the show.

"Dil Ki Nazar Se...Khoobsurat" went on air Feb 25 on Sony TV and it also stars Soumya Seth in the female lead. Abhishek Malik too features in it.

"Dil Ki Nazar Se...Khoobsurat" completed 50 episodes recently and Rohit also plays RJ Ehsas in the serial.

"Madhav and Ehsas, two characters, plus it's a very positive and a romantic role. Then there are a lot of shades. So there is everything. I couldn't say no to this character," he said.

On the screen Rohit's character may have to suffer due to his looks, but off the screen the actor has loads of fun with the cast and the crew.

"We spend more time on the sets than at our homes. So this has also become a kind of family. Everyone is very cooperative, we share great chemistry. It's a home-like atmosphere and we have fun at work," Rohit said.
