Armed bandits on a motorcycle opened gunfire and snatched a bag containing Rs 3.5 lakh from an employee of a gas agency owned by the family of an Uttar Pradesh cabinet minister, police said on Monday.
Police said two employees with the currency bag were on their way to the office from the gas godown on Sunday evening when three persons stopped them and fired a shot, injuring one of them in the leg.
Senior Superintendent of Police Swapnit Mamgai said the police were confident of resolving the case soon and that the injured man was out of danger.
