Russians top the list of nations whose tourists have utilised the newly inaugurated visa on arrival (VoA) facility at Goa's Dabolim International Airport, according to a tourism department statement issued here Friday.
The statement said that 1,091 visas were issued on arrival Dec 4-25. According to VoA data which accompanies the statement, 595 Russian tourists utilized the new facility followed by 430 from Ukraine, 25 from the US, among others.
"The figure has tripled within 10 days and is going to increase over the next couple of days," the statement says quoting Kumar H. Nair, Assistant Director and Chief Immigration Officer at the Dabolim international airport.
Goa is a top beach tourism destination in the country and attracts half a million foreign tourists annually.
