India continued to dominate on the second day of the 12th South Asian Games (SAG) with Sapna Devi winning gold in the women's Wushu Taulu (Changquan) competition at the Rising Sun Sports Complex here on Sunday.
Apart from Sapna, the hosts also bagged a bronze in the men's section with Anjul taking a bronze medal.
Sapna scored 9.45 points to emerge as the winner while the silver went to Susmita Tamang of Nepal who had a score of 8.72. Pakistan's Nazia Parvaiz took the bronze with a score of 6:30 points.
In the men's competition, Sri Lanka's P.L.H. Lakshan scored 8:86 to win the gold medal while Bijay Sinjali of Nepal earned silver with a score of 8:80 points. For India, Namdeo was forced to settle for bronze after scoring 8:66 points.
The men's competition saw some tough competition as there was very little to separate Lakshan, Sinjali and Namdeo.
India were the most successful nation in the wushu competition at the last edition of the SAG and are aiming to bag 10 gold medals this time around.
