Designer Samant Chauhan's who is known for his out-of-the-box inspiration in the fashion industry has once again inspired his patrons with his collection at the ongoing Amazaon India Fashion Week 2016.

Chauhan showcased a collection inspired from the Indo-Greek cultural exchange on the second day of fashion gala, that started here on Wednesday.

"Titled Kinnaur Queen, the collection drew Aits inspiration from many centuries of Intense and rich Indo-Greek cultural exchange," said the designer.

"This collection takes you back to the fascinating era of Alexender's encounter with Porus on the banks of River Hydaspes, now known as Jhelum. It also captures the deep impact of Alexander's marital ties with Kinnauran lifestyle and the culture of the people in the region even to this day," he added.

Embroideries, intricate detailing, exaggerated shoulders, smart cuts and his famous blood red lining were some of the high points of the line.

A cotton silk panel kaftan with silk thread and zari embroidery, front open fish cut style dress in cotton silk in silk thread embroidery, cotton silk fused dress with silk thread and zari embroidery, net fabric gown embellished with silk thread and zari work and layerd cape style front open gown in cotton silk fabric, embellished with silk thread and zari emboriry were some of the show stealers.

"Lot of hand work has been done on the collection especially the hand woven fabric. The colours are primarily off white as we don't encourage colour. In my village (Bhagalpur in Bihar) there is still no process of producing colours hence this idea. Also my fabrics look better in natural form," Chauhan told IANS.

It took the designer more than six months to make the collection that was ready to seel like hot cakes in the market.

"There are lot of buyers who are asking for orders. They are primarily from Middle East so we are hoping for the best like always," said Chauhan.
