According to Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger his Chilean star striker Alexis Sanchez is in the fitness 'red zone'.
Wenger is aware of the fact that the Chilean has had a gruelling schedule following the World Cup where he has featured in every game since he signed for the North London side.
"He is in the red zone. You can see that when he plays, but he can dig deep. He played his 27th game on Wednesday since the start of the season," the 65-year-old French man was quoted as saying by the Guardian.
"Unfortunately, you never know how far you can push it. We are not scientific enough to predict that completely but he has good recovery potential," he added.
It was Sanchez's strike in stoppage time which won Arsenal the game when they beat Southampton in their last encounter. He now has 14 goals to his credit in an Arsenal shirt.
There were other injury concerns for Wenger too at the heart of his team's defence ahead of their weekend clash against Stoke City, with Nacho Monreal and Kieran Gibbs out, the manager only hoped that Laurent Koscielny who has been nursing his inflamed achilles would come through to start in the playing eleven.
