Sarovar Hotels, one of India's fastest growing hotel management companies Friday announced the signing of The Premiere, Nairobi, thus strengthening its foothold in Africa. The upscale hotel will be the group's third property in Africa after New Africa in Dar-Es-Salaam, and The Heron Portico in Nairobi.

The Premiere is slated to open in 2015. The 144-room property is located in the airport complex of Embakasi, convenient for business travelers arriving in Nairobi for a comfortable and luxurious stay near the airport.

The hotel will also offer dining and conferencing venues complete with many other modern facilities.

"The Premiere will be our third hotel in Africa and second in Nairobi, which is an established hub for business and culture. India is increasingly showing interest in Africa as a market and we too are of the belief that Africa has a huge potential in the hospitality segment," Sarovar Hotels & Resorts managing director Anil Madhok said.

Nairobi, being the capital and the largest city of Kenya, is amongst the most prominent cities in East Africa both politically and financially. The city is home to thousands of Kenyan businesses and major international companies.

Nairobi is also nicknamed the "Safari Capital of the World" which is due to Nairobi's prominence as a transit hub for safari tourism to the Masai Mara.

Headed by a team of industry veterans, Sarovar Hotels & Resorts manages and franchises 60 operational hotels across 40 cities in India and overseas, under the Sarovar Premiere, Sarovar Portico, Hometel, Park Plaza and Park Inn brands. The brands cover the 3, 4 and 5 star spectrum.

Sarovar Hotels also manages corporate hospitality services at the prestigious Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad, Hindustan Unilever Limited's training centre in Mumbai and the new campus of Indian School of Business at Mohali. Geoffrey's, the popular English Pub brand operates at multiple destinations across India.
