Saudi Arabia's labour ministry has launched a website to educate expatriate workers about their rights and ways to avail them, a media report said Wednesday.
The website www.laboreducation.gov.sa launched Tuesday aims to prevent violation of workers' rights and boost awareness among them about the rules that regulate the relationship between the employee and employer in the country, Arab News reported.
The site's Arabic version has comprehensive information on contact details of relevant authorities, workers' rights, contractual obligations and wages, working hours, training, qualification, work responsibility, disciplinary rules and the calculation of end of service benefits.
The English version is under construction and will be launched shortly.
The website was launched after several reports of exploitation of expatriate workers due to lack of legal knowledge. At 2.8 million, Indians account for the largest expatriate community in Saudi Arabia.
