With Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mufti Muhammad Sayeed's death at a Delhi hospital on Thursday, the nation has lost a well-meaning, suave and soft-spoken leader, said Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav.
Sayeed died at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in Delhi. He was 79.
Yadav said Sayeed was an experienced and progressive public representative who held high offices and always worked to bring peace and development to Jammu and Kashmir.
"In his passing away, the country has lost a well-meaning, suave and soft-spoken leader who always had the welfare of the people in his heart," Yadav said extending his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.
