SC to hear plea over gurdwaras in Harayna

The Supreme Court will hear Thursday a petition seeking the quashing of Haryana Sikh Gurdwara (Management) contending that it was ultra vires of the constitution and interferes in Sikh religious affairs.

An apex court bench headed by Chief Justice R.M. Lodha agreed to hear the matter after senior counsel Harish Salve told the court that the ground situation was serious as Sikhs from Punjab and Haryana were vying to take control of the gurdwaras in Haryana.
