Actress and stand-up comedian Amy Schumer has responded to accusations that she ripped off Patrice O'Neal's jokes.
The "Inside Amy Schumer" star was accused of stealing jokes from the late comedian during her recent HBO stand-up special "Live at the Apollo," reports aceshowbiz.com.
Schumer made jokes about unusual sex positions, calling one "Abraham Lincoln" and the other "Houdini."
Meanwhile, during a 2007 Just for Laughs festival in Montreal, O'Neal cracked similar jokes. He called them "Gorilla Mask" and "Poltergeist."
When the Patrice O'Neal stand-up routine was brought to Schumer's attention on Twitter by a fan, the funnywoman replied, "Thanks man. I have never seen that Patrice bit but I will watch today. I love and miss him."
She then retweeted her follower who came to her defence.
The fan's note includes argument that "those terms have been in the Urban Dictionary for years, Patrice did not come up with them."
