Right-handed batsman Adam Voges will be replaced by all-rounder Tim Armstrong in the Perth Scorchers squad for the Twenty20 Big Bash League (BBL).

The BBL technical committee approved the change Tuesday. Voges has been ruled out due to injury and will be replaced by 23-year-old, said a Cricket Australia (CA) press statement.

Voges will be able to resume his place in the squad if he recovers from injury and is fit to resume playing duties before the end of the tournament.

Round 2 of the BBL gets underway on Boxing Day with the Scorchers taking on the Renegades at the WACA.
