Seafood exporter launches smartphone app for home delivery

Leading seafood exporter, Baby Marine Group (BMG), has launched a smartphone app for all those who want doorstep deliveries.

For home deliveries, people can either place online orders at www.dailyfish.in or by downloading the Daily Fish India app.

The Kochi-based company has been in the seafood business for four decades with their products reaching across the globe.

Speaking to IANS, Alex K. Thomas, managing director and CEO, Baby Marine Seafood, said that they have had a huge response to this concept and hence decided to take it forward.

"We began today at Kochi and in four months time we will reach other major cities of the state," said Thomas.

Thomas said Keralites have the highest per capita consumption of fish in the country at 24 kg a year and the annual market is worth over Rs. 12,000 crore.

"A kilogram of cleaned and ready to cook seer fish is priced for home delivery at Rs. 760, while a 250 gram cleaned shrimp would be priced at Rs 190. We have decided that our products will not be available in any shop or mall counters," Thomas said.
