Director Badri Venkatesh says upcoming Tamil action comedy "Semma Botha Aagatha", which is on the verge of completion, will be a very different film for its lead actor Atharvaa, who has also doubled up as the producer.
"It is a project we are all excited about. It is going to be a very different film for Atharvaa, whose performance will be a breakout from anything he has done so far. It is an extremely contemporary and commercial film," Venkatesh told IANS.
Though not a complete road film, the director says some part of it unfolds on the road.
"It is a funny take on a guy who does not get drunk. Contrary to the title, it is a very positive film and we do not endorse drinking. By next month, we should wrap up the shoot and we are hoping for July or August release," said Venkatesh, who has teamed up with Atharvaa for the second time.
They had previously worked in 2010 Tamil romantic-drama "Baana Kaathadi".
"Both of us were supposed to work on another project soon after our first film; however, things did not fall in place. Atharvaa was extremely kicked about the project we had decided to work on, and it was planned to be completely shot in the US," he said.
"Semma Botha Aagatha" is being bankrolled under Atharvaa's Kiickass Entertainment.
"Atharvaa loved the script, so much so that he decided to produce it. He has a passion for producing, and as a producer absolutely had no financial restrictions right from the beginning," he added.
The film features two heroines -- Anaika Soti and Mishti Chakraborty, who is making her Tamil cinematic debut.
Also starring an ensemble cast of John Vijay, Karunakaran, M.S Bhaskar and Mano Bala, the films has music by Yuvan Shankar Raja.
