Senior army officers killed in Pakistan blast

At least three Pakistani military officers were killed in an explosion near the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, a media report said Sunday.

Maj. Gen. Sanaullah, Lt. Col. Tauseef and Lance Naik Irfan Sattar were killed when a roadside improvised explosive device (IED) went off in Upper Dir area, Geo News reported citing the army's media wing.

Two other soldiers were also injured in the blast, the report said.

The officers were on a routine visit to the area when the incident happened.
