The Himachal Pradesh cabinet on Monday approved the creation of separate emergency medicine departments along with faculty in two prominent state-run hospitals, an official said.
The hospitals are Indira Gandhi Medical College and Hospital (IGMCH) in Shimla and Rajendra Prasad Medical College in Tanda town in Kangra district.
A government spokesperson said the cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh also approved the regularisation of services of employees appointed under the Rogi Kalyan Samiti (RKS) in the IGMCH.
The cabinet also approved the upgradation of community health centres in Jaisinghpur and Sujanpur, both in Kangra district, to civil hospitals.
