Seven people, including five policemen and two civilians, were injured Thursday when guerrillas attacked a police station in Kathua district of Jammu region.
Police sources told IANS militants attacked the Hira Nagar police station in Kathua district early Thursday morning.
"Militants used grenades and automatic weapons to attack the Hira Nagar police station today (Thursday) morning. Five police personnel, and two civilians have been injured in this attack."
"All the injured have suffered critical splinter and bullet injuries. Senior police and army officials have rushed to the spot and reinforcements have also been rushed to tackle the situation", police sources said.
Hira Nagar police station is barely seven km away from the international border in Kathua district.
